This is a great salad to make for our hot Southern days. I often add different add-ins to clear out the fridge. Good add-ins include cooked chicken, diced green pepper, fresh oriental vegetable mixes, snow peas, dried pineapple, dried cranberries, sunflower seeds, slivered almonds, etc. Such an easy recipe to customize, and a real crowd pleaser! If there is any leftover, it makes a great wrap the next day with some chicken or salmon.

yield 4-8 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 1 package broccoli slaw (12 ounces)
  • 2 packages ramen noodles (any flavor works, but we are partial to the creamy chicken, and as a back up, the oriental.)
  • 1 tablespoon cavendar's salt free greek seasoning
  • 1/2 cup sugar (i use less, but do it to taste)
  • 1/2` cup oil
  • 1/3 cup vinegar (i tend to use white as often as possible, but apple cider and rice work well, too)
  • 1 bunch green onions (including tops), chopped
  • 1 dash powdered garlic (i can't get enough of the stuff), optional

How To Make broccoli slaw

  • Step 1
Break the Ramen noodles to pea sized pieces. In a medium sized container, whisk the sugar, oil, vinegar, and spice packets from the Ramen noodles together. Add the remaining ingredients; tossing to coat. Refrigerate for several hours, before serving. Serve cold.
