This is my sister's recipe, I have no idea where she got it, but I just love it! You can also make this with the bagged coleslaw mix or chopped cabbage, but I like it best with the bagged broccoli slaw. It makes a sizeable batch, so if you are not going to consume it all at once sitting, I recommend adding the dressing as served, otherwise it gets soggy.

Ingredients

  • 1 package broccoli slaw mix
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds
  • 1/4 cup sunflower seeds (hulls removed)
  • 1/8 cup sesame seeds
  • 1 package ramen noodles and seasoning pkt
  • DRESSING
  • 1/8 cup sugar
  • 1/8 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup olive oil, extra virgin lite
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

How To Make sis's broccoli slaw

  • Step 1
In a medium skillet brown the almonds, sunflower seeds and sesame seeds in the butter.
  • Step 2
ADD the Ramen Noodles (break the noodles up) and sesaoning packet.
  • Step 3
Cool the butter, seed/noodle/nut combination after browning
  • Step 4
Add slaw to the cooled butter mixture.
  • Step 5
Mix dressing. Add to the slaw mixture toss gently to mix. Serve immediately.
  • Step 6
NOTE: THis makes a large salad, if you aren't going to eat it all in one setting, only add the dressing to the portion you are eating, otherwise it gets soggy/mushy.
  • Step 7
You can add chopped onion, shredded carrots and bacon or ham to this also.
