Balela is on a middle-eastern style salad. This is not only healthy, but a wonderful change for a salad. You can even serve it in a wrap with chicken or fish.... or just eat it plain or as a side dish... My family loves it.. ..live healthy and enjoy. Marti

Ingredients

  • 2 - 15oz cans chick peas
  • 1-15oz can black beans
  • 1-15oz can tomatoes, canned italian-style and diced
  • 1/2 - chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup minced fresh mint
  • 1/4 cup minced fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 clove minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest, grated
  • - salt and pepper to taste

How To Make balela

  • Step 1
    Drain liquid from Chickpeas and black beans and pour into a bowl, then mix gently the rest of the ingredients together. Chill and serve...
  • Step 2
    you can serve with chicken, fish, serve in a wrap with chicken or fish or just as a side... so many ways to enjoy this dish.... cheers.....
