Ingredients
- 1 pound salt cod (bacalhau)
- 1/2 cup chopped black olives
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 2 small onions, thinly sliced
- 1 can (14.5 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
How To Make bacalhau chickpea salad

Step 1Wash and soak the cod in a bowl of water. Change the water 3 times over the course of 8-10 hours.

Step 2In a saucepan, add the cod and water. Bring the water to a boil 1-2 minutes. Drain the water and tear the bacalhau into small pieces.

Step 3In a large bowl add the pieces of bacalhau along with the rest of the ingredients. Toss the ingredients together well and serve, room temperature, or chill and serve cold.
