blueberry jello salad

My great great Nana used to make this for family dinners, and the recipe has held up well through the years - we make it every Thanksgiving. It is nice and sweet as an after dinner treat, but not too heavy like a pastry dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 package lemon jello
  • 1 package black raspberry jello. (or black cherry, if unavailable)
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 pint sour cream
  • 1 pound canned blueberries
  • 1 cup leftover blueberry juice

How To Make blueberry jello salad

  • Step 1
    for First Layer: Dissolve lemon jello into 1 1/2 c hot water. Add sour cream and beat on low to blend. Pour into 8x8 cake pan (Or jello mold, whichever you prefer). Put into fridge to set.
  • Step 2
    For 2nd layer: Dissolve Raspberry jello into 1 c hot water. Add blueberries and blueberry juice. Mix well. When first layer is set, remove from fridge and pour 2nd layer on top of first. Return to fridge until set.
