This is a recipe I learned (or stole) from my wife. The nuts and Ramen noodles give it a great "crunch."

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Great crunch, indeed! This simple salad has terrific flavors and texture. It would be great to serve alongside most any dish, or on its own as a meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1 package ramen noodles, crushed
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 - bunch broccoli
  • 1 - head romaine lettuce
  • 4 - green onions and stems
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
  • 3 teaspoons soy sauce
  • - salt and pepper to taste

How To Make romaine salad

  • Step 1
    Brown first three ingredients and set aside to drain on paper towel.
  • Step 2
    Chop broccoli, lettuce and green onions.
  • Step 3
    Mix oil, sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, salt and pepper.
  • Step 4
    Mix all ingredients together just before serving.
