I got this recipe from my aunt years ago. It has become a family favorite--so much so that at my nephew's wedding shower he asked "No salad?"

Ingredients

  • 1
    head of lettuce
  • 1
    head of cauliflower
  • 1 lb
    bacon (i use prepared bacon bits or pieces. much quicker and easier but doesn't take away from the taste.
  • 1
    red onion (i often leave this out as we are not onion lovers.)
  • DRESSING

  • 1 c
    mayonnaise
  • 3 Tbsp
    sugar
  • ·
    enough parmesan cheese to cover top of salad
  • ·
    salt & pepper to taste

How to Make Make Ahead Salad

Step-by-Step

  1. Layer lettuce, cauliflower, onion and fried crumbed bacon in bowl. Mix all dressing ingredients but the Parmesan. Spread dressing over top, then sprinkle cheese over all.Refrigerate several hours or overnight. Toss before serving.
