Hearts of Palm Salad

I had this salad at a popular restaurant in Las Vegas and decided to make a couple improvements. It has become a family favorite and makes a nice presentation when it's served to guests.

1 large
romaine lettuce head
1/2 pkg
grape tomatos, sliced
1 pt
mozzarella balls or fresh mozzarella
1 jar(s)
hearts of palm
1/2 jar(s)
kalamata (greek) olives, pitted
1 clove
garlic, to rub plate
3 Tbsp
white balsamic vinegar
2-3 Tbsp
olive oil, extra virgin
1/4 tsp
italian seasoning or herbs de provence
salt and pepper to taste


1Rub a large platter with clove of fresh garlic.
2Wash Romaine lettuce, tear into bite-sized pieces and dry (in a salad spinner, if possible)
3Spread lettuce on platter.
4Arrange tomatoes, bite-sized pieces of cheese, sliced hearts of palm and kalamata olives over lettuce.
5Sprinkle olive oil, vinegar, italizn seasoning and salt and pepper to taste.
6Chill until ready to serve.
