Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • 1 quart shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 cup chopped grn or red pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 jar pimentos (if desired)
  • 3 - ribs of celery--chopped fine
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seed

How To Make forever slaw

  • Step 1
    BRING TO BOIL: SUGAR, WATER, MUSTARD SEED, VINEGAR MAKE THIS THE DAY BEFORE SERVING. COOL & REFRIGERATE OVER NIGHT
  • Step 2
    SOAK 1 QT. SHREDDED CABBAGE, GRN OR RED PEPPERS, TSP SALT IN 2 C COLD WATER FOR 2 HRS. DRAIN WELL. ADD PIMENTOS IF DESIRED, CHOPPED CELERY.
  • Step 3
    POUR COLD LIQUID OVER ALL THE NEXT DAY KEEPS FOR SEVERAL DAYS
