This is my fall back. It is very simple, and good with any kind of dressing; or without any at all. Most people really enjoy it; although there aren't any really special ingredients!

prep time 20 Min

  • 1
head of darkest romaine lettuce, washed, patted dry with paper towel, and broken in bite size pieces
  • 1
head of darkest iceberg lettuce, washed and patted dry with paper towel and broken into bite sized pieces
  • 2 lb
tomatoes, cored and sliced in wedges (like an orange)
  • 1
    bunch of little green onions
  • 1/2 c
cooked and crumbled bacon, or bacon bits
  • 2 md
cucumbers, peeled or not (i peel mine, as the outside is often bitter)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • anything else you have on hand that you would like to add: jalapenos, raisins, craisins, banana peppers, olives, chinese noodles, crackers, croutons, etc. (optional)
  • salad dressing of your choice (tastes better, but optional

How To Make

  • 1
toss all of the ingredients in a large bowl, leaving out the things that individuals may like or don't like, for them to add on their own if they choose. Set it up like a salad bar if you choose to.
