This is a recipe from my friends grandmother. I have changed it up since the original. Any "FRESH" fruit works with this recipe. I have even used mangos. Fresh is best, but you can use frozen. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • DRESSING:
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds -optional to toast
  • SALAD:
  • 2 packages baby spinach
  • 1 quart strawberries, fresh washed & sliced into quarters
  • 1/2 medium red onion (diced)
  • 1 cup sunflower seeds - optional to toast
  • 1 can canned mandarin oranges (small) - optional
  • 1 quart fresh blueberries - optional
  • 1 quart fresh raspberries - optional

How To Make strawberry spinach salad

  • Step 1
    Make the dressing then chill.
  • Step 2
Make the salad in the order of recipe. If planning on toasting sunflower seeds, be sure to cool the seeds or it will wilt the spinach. You can use frozen fruits, but it isn't the same as fresh. Just be sure to defrost the fruit before adding to spinach.
  • Step 3
When ready to add dressing, be sure to mix well. Add to salad then toss. Enjoy!
