Ingredients

  • 1 or 2 - heads of bibb lettuce
  • 8 - grape tomatoes cut in half
  • 1/4 cup craisins (dried cranberries)
  • 2 - bosc pears sliced
  • 8 - whole pecans (candied)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup provolone cheesee (bought in chunk)
  • CANDIED PECANS
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 8-10 - pecans

How To Make pear pecan salad

  • Step 1
    Wash and dry lettuce. Bibb lettuce works very well with this recipe.
  • Step 2
    Cut the grape tomatoes in half
  • Step 3
    Put the lettuce, tomatoes, craisins in a bowl. Slice the pears into thin wedges and mix with lettuce.
  • Step 4
    Candy the pecans by melting the butter and adding the sugar-when melted together, add pecans and coat. Cook for about 4 minutes turing them.
  • Step 5
    Make the dressing. Mix venegar and oil together. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Step 6
    Pour dressing over salad and top with the candied pecans. Makes 4 portions.
