One salad I remember fondly was just thinly sliced cabbage with pineapple chunks and pecans. Momma made dressing with mayonnaise, vinegar and a little sugar.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 - cabbage head
  • 1 can pineapple chunks 8.25 oz.
  • 1/2 cup pecans
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 - lemon, squeezed
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

How To Make cabbage pineapple salad

  • Step 1
    Slice the cabbage thin and place in bowl
  • Step 2
    Drain juice, then scatter chunks of pineapple over cabbage
  • Step 3
    Toss in chopped pecans
  • Step 4
    Make a dressing with sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, and sugar to taste
  • Step 5
    Toss with dressing just before serving
