SIMPLE and my kids' favorite. I made a different fruit salad one year and my youngest son, Joe, had a fit. "Mom, this is not what I asked for!" Oops, mom was in deep poo poo!!

Add to Grocery List


  • 2 large
    cans fruit cocktail drained (extra cherries, please)
  • 1 large
    can crushed pineapple or chunks ( well drained)
  • 2 c
    each, red and green grapes (seedless) Can cut in half
  • 1 small
    can mandarin oranges, drained
  • 1 small
    bag mini marshmallows
  • 1 large
    tub whipped topping, thawed
  • 2 large
    bananas, sliced or diced
  • ·
    optional: any variety of fruit you desire is good to use: berries, blueberries, strawberries, apples, etc.

How to Make Grandma's Fruit Salad By Freda


  1. Drain all canned fruit very well. Add all fruits - except bananas - into a large bowl. (Save the bananas 'til serving time.)
  2. Add marshmallows and whipped topping; toss well to mix.
    Add in the fresh bananas just before serving.
