This recipe is my grandmother-in-law's it is AMAZING!

Ingredients

  • 10 - chicken thighs (or 1 whole fryer)
  • 3 boxes jiffy cornbread mix
  • 4-5 medium onions, chopped
  • 4-5 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 1/2 - 2 teaspoons thyme
  • - salt and pepper to taste

How To Make sam's cornbread dressing

  • Step 1
    Bake cornbread according to instructions on box.
  • Step 2
    Boil chicken with 1/2 of the onions and celery until almost done.
  • Step 3
    Cut chicken into bite sized pieces.
  • Step 4
    Saute' the other 1/2 of the onions and celery. Put chicken and seasonings into it and stir.
  • Step 5
    Put all back into the broth and cook about 10 minutes or until done.
  • Step 6
    Crumble cornbread and add chicken and vegetables. Stir and add broth until moist.
  • Step 7
    Put in oven at 375 degrees for about 20 minutes.
