My Mom made this recipe often. She worked at O.U. food an nutrition.department. She thought people to cook food on a budget that was good and nutritious This is one of her recipes that I made my way.

Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 package taco seasoning
- 2/3 cup water
- 1 - head iceburg lettuce chopped into bite size pieces
- 1 - red bell pepper chopped
- 1 - green bell pepper chopped
- 1/2 cup sliced blacj olives
- 1 can red kidney beans drained and rinsed
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup green onions sliced thin
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 -10 ounce bag corn chips or nocho doretoes
- 1=16 ounce catalina dressing
- - sour cream
How To Make mom's taco salad as done by eddie

Step 1Brown ground beef until no pink remains drain any fat.

Step 2Stir in the taco season packet and add water , simmer until thickens about 5 minutes. Set aside to cool.

Step 3In a large bowl combine lettuce, peppers, black olives pinto beans or red kidney beans tomatoes and onions.

Step 4Top with seasoning and cooled ground beef.

Step 5Slightly crush the chips and sprinkle on top drizzle with Catalina dressing and toss to coat evenly.

Step 6Garnish with sour cream and additional green onions.

Step 7Serve Immediately.
