Great for shampooing carpets. I shampooed my church's rec hall with this.For spot stains use either shout or color safe powdered bleach Will not suds but cleans very well. Cost is 30 cents per gallon. Costs less if you find ingrients on sale.

Ingredients

  • 1 bar - zote laundry bar (can use kirk's if can't find zote)
  • 1 cup borax
  • 1/2 cup washing soda (optional)
  • 4 3/4 gallons water ( divided use)

How To Make liquid laundry soap safe for he machines

  • Step 1
    Slice laundry bar into about 8 slices place in large stockpot with 4 cups water.Heat on medium high till soap dissolves completely. Pour into 5 gallon bucket that has about 2 gallons of water in it.
  • Step 2
    In stock pot put 1 cup borax and 1/2 cup washing soda (washing soda is optional) add 4 cups water bring to a boil place in bucket with melted soap. Top off bucket with water and stir well.
  • Step 3
    Soap can be used immediately.Will thicken some as it sits after a few days can dilute to your liking.Recommend 1/4 cup for average load 1/2 cup for large or heavily soiled load. Soap is safe for HE machines. Can find Zote soap at big lots or a Spanish market.
