teachers i knew from 1962 to the present
Today I read a message in one of the groups which stated: "Thank a teacher" AND I realized I have known so many great teachers in my lifetime. TODAY is the birthday of one of them, and her name is Aunt Mildred. She turned 97 years today, and I am going down-island to take her a small gift and a card. She is very special to my husband, to me, and to many others. Read the attached article if you can. Many thanks to Mildred!

How To Make teachers i knew from 1962 to the present
-
Step 1Add in a few books, instructions and attention.
-
Step 2Let loose on the playground for a while, and then ring the school bell for class to begin.
-
Step 3Aunt Mildred and my mother-in-law, Priscilla, were college room-mates at Bridgewater College. They each came to teach at Menemsha School when they were beginning their teaching careers. They lived in a boarding house, The Homestead, as it is known on D.H.'s Hill, near Menemsha. The article is written by a young boy, whose parents now own that house! We loved reading about Aunt Mildred, and I hope you can also read this article. If not, send me a message and I will somehow send a copy to you!
