My other great love besides cooking -well one of them- is making body products. Those of you have asked me so many times how I make my all purpose body ointment; here u go!

prep time 5 Min
cook time 15 Min
method ---
yield

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup beeswax - grated or pellet form
  • 3/4 cup skin loving oil (almond, apricot, olive or a blend)
  • 1/4 cup shea or avocado butter
  • 1 teaspoon vitamin e oil
  • 1 teaspoon honey (yes, i said honey :p)

How To Make "chelipepper" brand baby/body ointment

  • Step 1
Melt all ingredients -except honey- together in a double boiler. U CAN melt them over direct heat in a single saucepan, but I prefer the slower and more even/gentle melt the double boiler gives because it gives a smoother product. Do NOT melt in the microwave as your finished consistency will not be as nice and your product will not be as stable
  • Step 2
Using a hand mixer, whip the melted ingredients together til smooth and well blended. Let cool and start to form into a creamy consistency, whipping for 30 seconds or so every 5 mins. Once the mixture begans to be opaque and begins to hold texture, whip in the honey. (If you whip the honey in before the mixture is cool enough, it will separate out) After u mix the honey in, you can jar it and let it cool the rest of the way.
  • Step 3
Its a bit of work, but its a labor of love .. Be healthy and Enjoy!
