Around here we kill turkeys around same time of year as the field mushrooms grow, during the drier times of year the turkeys eat alot of crickets which effects the taste of them. The turkey can be replaced by garden variety chicken. Turkeys here a feral pest, usually roaming over a number of farms.

Ingredients

  • 1 - turkey, plucked n gutted
  • 1 - onion
  • 10-15 - field mushrooms
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cracked peppercorns
  • 2 - sheets pastry
  • - egg wash
  • 1 package chicken gravy

How To Make turkey n mushroom pie

  • Step 1
    Peel n chop onion. In large stock pot boil turkey with onion until meat falls off bone, discard waste parts. Into place turkey meat, onion, chopped mushrooms, seasoning. Make gravy in cup pour into bowl mix well.
  • Step 2
    Into pie dish, layout first layer of pastry. Pour in contents of bowl, top with 2nd layer pastry. Egg wash top. Bake 180 c until pastry browns.
