For those who want a healthy alternative to burgers, this is something I came across that some might enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 can chickpeas,drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup scallions,roughly chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 pound ground turkey breast (12oz), 99% fat free
  • - olive oil cooking spray

How To Make turkey & chickpeas burger

  • Step 1
    In a food processor,combine chickpeas,scallions,cumin,pepper,salt and Worcestershire sauce. Pulse until smooth.
  • Step 2
    Transfer chickpea mixture to a large mixing bowl. Add turkey and mix by hand until combined.
  • Step 3
    Divide turkey-chickpea mixture into 4 equal portions,shaping each into 3/4 inch patty. Heat a large non stick skillet over medium high heat. Coat skillet with cooking spray and cook patties for 4 to 6 minutes on each side.
  • Step 4
    Serve on a whole wheat bun, topped with spinach,tomatoes,onions and Dijon mustard..
