This is a healthier version of an old-time favorite. We get the whole family into the act - it's fun to make and even more fun to eat!

When I first prepared this I was expecting just another meat loaf, but was very surprised at the wonderful finished product! This is a very good entree, and will be a tasty surprise for your family or guests.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds ground turkey
  • 1 cup saltine cracker crumbs
  • 2 large eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 package sloppy joe mix
  • - salt and freshly ground pepper
  • SAUCE INGREDIENTS
  • 1/2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons prepared mustard
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar - firmly packed

How To Make tasty turkey loaf

  • Step 1
    Preheat the oven to 350 and lightly oil a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Step 2
    In a small bowl, combine the sauce ingredients and set aside.
  • Step 3
    In a large bowl, combine all the loaf ingredients and mix well.
  • Step 4
    Place mixture into a baking dish. Brush the sauce evenly over the top. Cover the dish with aluminum foil. Bake 1 hour or until done. Allow loaf to sit for 15 minutes before slicing.
