We are committed to healthier burgers (gulp!). Turkey fits the bill in a lot of ways, especially when tasty goodies are in and on the burger.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds turkey burger
  • 3 tablespoons worchestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs, seasoned
  • 1 - beaten egg +1 egg white
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • slice various cheeses, including feta
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 4 - whole wheat kaiser rolls or hamb. buns
  • - romaine lettuce leaves, and sliced tomatoes
  • 1/2 pound turkey bacon

How To Make stuffed turkey bacon burgers on the grill

  • Step 1
Mix ingredients (excluding cheese) into turkey burger JUST until mixed. Do not overwork meat - form into 8 patties. Place cheese (and mushrooms, if desired) on top of 4 patties, then place the other patties on top. Press edges together to seal, then press down on middle to prevent mounding while grilling.
  • Step 2
(Grease grill rack before firing up.) When charcoal is ready, place patties on grill. 6 minutes per side. After flipping burgers, put turkey bacon on a griddle on rack, or in an aluminum pan, sprayed with olive oil. Bacon will cook in approx. same time as burgers. When burgers and bacon are done, place on buns, add condiments as desired, and ENJOY, with napkins handy. I also grill tomatoes lightly marinated in oil and herbs - for side dish, or on burgers also.
