Spicy Turkey Chili

Dawn Whitted

I love making chili. It's a go to meal for me. Over the years I have created many different types. This is a lean healthy choice with low sodium and pretty basic ingredients. Leave out the wine or add more it still tastes great!

I always serve cornbread, corn chips and hot dogs so the kids can make chili dogs if they want to...Yum!

How to Make Spicy Turkey Chili

  • 1In large skillet brown ground turkey or brown in crockpot on high for 25-30 minutes.

Meanwhile dice all veggies and open all canned items.
  • 2Add ground turkey, diced veggies, canned items, seasonings and liquids to large stock pot and simmer for 2 hours on medium heat.

Add all ingredients to crockpot and cook on low 4-6 hours. This gets better the longer you cook it.
  • 3**McCormick Chili Mix was used since I ran out of chili powder.
**chopped jalapeno peppers to make it a bit more spicy is optional
**The kids always top their chili with sourcream & chives & Fritos Corn Chips
These tips kick up the flavor profile a bit.
