Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons oil, divided
- 1 1/2 pounds ground turkey (white or dark)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 medium red bell pepper, diced
- 1 medium green bell pepper, diced
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped
- 2 cans 14.5 oz. cans fire roasted diced tomatoes
- 4 teaspoons chili powder (or more to your liking)
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 can 14.5 oz. can whole kernel corn, drained
- 1 can 14.5 oz. can pinto beans (or black beans) rinsed and drained
- extra liquid if needed - broth or tomato sauce
How To Make slow cooker turkey chili

Step 1In a large skillet, add 1/2 oil and cook turkey until crumbly.

Step 2Add turkey to slow cooker. Using the same skillet, add remaining oil and cook onions, bell peppers, garlic and jalapeno pepper until softened. Add seasonings to onion/pepper mixture and allow flavors to develop - approx. 1-2 minutes.

Step 3Add onion/pepper mixture to crockpot. Stir in tomatoes, corn and beans and mix well.

Step 4Cook on low for approx. 6 hours. If needed, you may add broth or tomato sauce to thin it out.
