  • 1 tablespoon evoo, if needed
  • 2 - 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 - 3 teaspoons red wine vinegar
  • 2 - 3 teaspoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1 - small can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup tomato ketchup
  • 2 - 3 teaspoons steak seasoning - i use montreal steak seasoning
  • 1 - small or 1/2 larger red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 - medium onion, chopped
  • - whole wheat sandwich buns
  • - toppings as desired - slice of tomato, pickles, slice of cheese, etc.

How To Make sloppy (turkey) joes

  • Step 1
Add a turn of EVOO (if desired) to a skillet and cook ground turkey until no longer pink. Add onion and red bell pepper. Cook until tender. Add other seasonings and continue to cook on low for about 3-5 minutes. Place on bun and top with other toppings, if desired. We like ours to be warmed in the microwave for a few seconds to heat the bun. Serve with your favorite chips, oven-baked tator tots, oven-fried Onion Rings, or Bonnie's Best Oven Fries.
