Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 1 pound smoked turkey kielbasa, cut into 1/2"-pieces
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
- 1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper
- 1/2 cup chopped celery
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 - bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 - 14.5 oz can stewed tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
- 2 - 15 oz cans red kidney beans, drained
- 1 cup uncooked white rice
- 2 cups water
- 1 tablespoon hot pepper sauce or to taste
How To Make red beans and rice w/ kielbasa

Step 1In a 4-quart saucepan, heat oil over medium heat. Add kielbasa, onions, peppers, celery, garlic powder, bay leaves and thyme. Cook 6 mins, stirring until veggies are tender.

Step 2Stir in tomatoes and seasoned salt. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer 20 min, stirring occasionally. Stir in beans, cover and simmer 10 min.

Step 3Cook rice in water as directed. Remove bay leaves from bean mix. Serve bean mix over rice.Serve w/ hot pepper sauce.
