Growing up we would have the bigest Turkey my mom & Dad could find or two Turkeys. My mom had a big stove with 2 ovens .And we have a big family .I have 5 brothers and 2 sisters.I love this Turkey recipe so tender and and the stuffing inside is so good.
1Set your oven at 325 .Remove giblets And neck for giblet gravy put in a pan with about 3 cups of water on the stove and cook on low till giblets are tender. I HAVE A STUFFING RECIPE POSTED 'MOMS THANKSGIVING STUFFING'
2Rinse turkey inside and out with cool water.Pat turkey dry. Salt your turkey real good Put your dressing in cheese cloth put in your turkey .Put in roasting pan with lid on. in your oven on lower rank cook for how ever long the directions say when done take the lid off about a 1/2 hour till brown .Take out and let set for about 30 min before you serve .
3For the giblet gravy when giblets are tender take the neck out. Because you dont need it. Let set on the stove till the turkey is done . cut giblets in small pices No fat just the meat. Then put back in pan .When the turkey is done put about 3 cups of drippings in .Then in a jar or something put about 1/2 cup of cups of flour 1 1/2 cups of hot water shake or mix with a whisk real good.have your pan on med high when it comes to boil add slowly your flour and water mixture.whisk it in when it starts getting like gravy its done.If its to thin just fix up some more flour and water mixture just it in your gravy mixture a little at a time .Then salt and pepper .then serve
