Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup onion chopped
  • 1 clove garlic,crushed
  • 1 medium green bell pepper- diced
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes (28oz)
  • 1 can red kidney beans
  • 1 can chick peas- drained
  • 1 can black beans ( optional to drain)
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • - few drops hot sauce (ex.tabasco sauce)

How To Make mom's turkey chili

  • Step 1
    Brown turkey chop meat, onion, green pepper, and garlic until turkey in thoroughly cooked. Drain. Combine all ingredients in a slow cooker . Set on high for 5-6 hours - the longer the better.
  • Step 2
    Stir as needed and add additional liquid (e.g. water, can of tomato sauce) if needed.
  • Step 3
    serve topped with your favorite cheese and crushed tortilla chips
