Judy's Homemade Corn Bread Dressing
self-rising buttermilk corn meal
slices white bread (torn in pieces)
cream of chicken soup
How to Make Judy's Homemade Corn Bread Dressing
1Preheat oven to 425 degreese
2Mix corn meal, flour, buttermilk, & eggs.
3Grease & preheat 8 inch square baking dish. Pour in corn meal mixture. Bake until golden brown. Cool and crumble, (set a side)
4In a medium sauce pan, add butter, celery, and onion, saute until tender. (set a side)
5In a large bowl, combine the crumbled corn bread, white bread, celery, and onion mixture. Add salt and pepper, poultry seasoning, ground sage.
6Add chicken stock, cream of chicken soup, and eggs mixing well. (mixture should be soupy.)
7Preheat oven to 350 degreese. Spray 13 by 9 inch baking dish. Pour the mixture into the prepared dish. Bake for 1 hour or until lightly browned.
