indian turkey samosa wraps

This recipe is a twist on the traditional fried version of samosas which are usually served as an appetiser. This dish is an entre and very satisfying. It will definitely do a tap dance on your taste buds!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 - medium potato, diced
  • 1/2 - large onion, diced
  • 3 - garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 - tomato, diced
  • 1 - fresh jalapeno, seeded and minced
  • 1 cup frozen peas and carrots
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • - naan or whole grain tortillas
  • - store bought mango chutney

How To Make indian turkey samosa wraps

  • Step 1
    In a large skillet, brown turkey.
  • Step 2
    Add onions and potatoes and saute for 5-10 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Add garlic and jalapeno and saute for 5 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Add tomatoes,peas and carrots, spices and broth and stir to combine.
  • Step 5
    Bring to a boil and reduce heat to medium.
  • Step 6
    Cover and let simmer for 20-30 minutes or till liquid is almost gone.
  • Step 7
    In 350 degree oven heat Naan or tortillas for 3-5 minutes.
  • Step 8
    Place wrap on plate a spoon generous amount of spicy turkey in center. Fold sides over filling
