A friend gave me this recipe and I've changed it up to meet my husband's my tastes and make it a bit more healthy. It's good and satisfying. We like it served over biscuits.

ground turkey
1 large
onion, chopped
potatoes, cleaned and diced
1 c
chopped celery
carrots, sliced
1 can(s)
stewed tomatoes, italian-style
1 can(s)
tomato soup
1 can(s)
creamed corn
1 can(s)
mixed vegetables, drained
2 Tbsp
beef soup base (optional)
salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Hunter Stew


  • 1In a dutch oven brown turkey, onion, celery, carrots and potatoes until turkey is fully cooked.
  • 2Add stewed tomatoes, tomato soup. Let simmer for 10 minutes.
  • 3Add creamed corn, mixed vegetables, soup base if desired. Let simmer another 20 minutes. Stew will become thick. Stir often.
  • 4Serve in bowls with crusty bread or biscuits.
