This chili is so easy and delicious - my husband requests it once a week in the winter! It's relatively healthy and makes for great leftovers! We add a little extra red crushed pepper for a great KICK!

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1+ pound ground turkey
  • 3 - 15 ounces cans of reduced sodium black beans, undrained
  • 28 ounces can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can green beans, drained
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil leaves
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1-2 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes

How To Make crockpot black bean chili

  • Step 1
Heat the oil in a large frying pan. Cook onion and garlic until the onions are just slightly translucent. Add the turkey and cook, stirring until meat is browned.
  • Step 2
While the meat is cooking, mix black beans, green beans, crushed tomatoes, chili powder, oregano, basil, red crushed pepper flakes (to your liking) and vinegar into the crock pot. Once the meat is finished browning, add the meat, onions and garlic. Mix well.
  • Step 3
Cook on high for 2 hours or on low for 4 hours. Serve with cornbread.
