new york strips with mushroom sauce
Every Friday is steak night in our house. Sometimes I get tired of the same old steak. This is a wonderful mushroom sauce for steaks, that mixes it up a bit. You could serve it over any cut of steak you like or even over hamburgers.

Ingredients
- 6 - 1.5 inch new york strip steaks
- - salt & pepper to taste
- - 1/4 c. clarified butter
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 package (3/4 oz.) mushroom gravy mix
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup red wine
- 1 pinch ground black pepper
- 1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced then coarsely chopped
- 1/2 cup sliced green onions
How To Make new york strips with mushroom sauce

Step 1Season New York Strip steaks with salt & pepper. Cover let sit at room temp for one hour.

Step 2Grill steaks over high heat for 4-5 minutes per side for medium. In last minute of cooking, brush steaks with clarified butter. Place steaks on a warm plate and let rest.

Step 3Saute' garlic and mushrooms in butter in a large, heavy skillet until mushrooms are softened.

Step 4Add gravy mix, water, wine and pepper; bring to a boil. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until smooth and thickened. Add green onions. Serve sauce over New York Strip Steaks.
