This is an easy/peasy way to take some shrimp, and come up with a wonderful starter, or just something to put together on a lazy afternoon, and eat all by yourself.

Mix up the spices to suit your own particular tastes, and go for it.

So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

Ingredients

  • PLAN/PURCHASE

  • 4 Tbsp
    sweet butter, unsalted
  • 1 Tbsp
    grapeseed oil
  • 2 clove
    baked garlic, smashed
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt, kosher variety
  • 1/4 tsp
    hungarian paprika
  • 1/4 tsp
    white pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 pinch
    cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 lb
    large fresh shrimp, shells removed, and deveined
  • 2 Tbsp
    lemon juice, freshly squeezed
  • OPTIONAL ITEMS

  • ·
    arugula for a bed for the shrimp
  • ·
    parmesan cheese, for topping

How to Make Seafood Essentials: Easy Peasy Quick Shrimp

Step-by-Step

  1. PREP/PREPARE
  2. A good heavy-bottom pan is perfect for this recipe. My recommendation would be cast iron.
  3. Gather your Ingredients (mise en place).
  4. Add the butter, oil, and smashed garlic to a pan over high heat, and stir to combine.
  5. When it comes to heat, add the shrimp.
  6. Mix the salt, paprika, white pepper, and cayenne together, and sprinkle on the shrimp.
  7. Keep the pan active, by stirring and flipping the shrimp.
  8. Take off the heat, when the shrimp begin to brown, about 3 – 5 minutes, and then add the lemon juice.
  9. PLATE/PRESENT
  10. Place on a bed of arugula, drizzle with some of the pan sauce, and sprinkle with parmesan, if using. Enjoy.
  11. Keep the faith, and keep cooking.
