Pennsylvania Dutch Scalloped Oysters
4 ccrushed cracker crumbs (saltines)
1/3 cbutter, melted
1/4 tspground black pepper
1 ptoysters, drained (reserve juice)
·reserved juice plus enough milk to make 2 cups liquid
How to Make Pennsylvania Dutch Scalloped Oysters
- Preheat oven to 375F. Grease or butter an 8-inch square baking pan (glass is best).
- Combine cracker crumbs and melted butter. Season with salt and pepper.
- Place 1/3 of cracker mix in bottom of pan. Place half of the oysters on crumbs. Repeat for another layer. Pour liquid over layers and top with remaining crumbs.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
