Ingredients

  • 4 cups crushed cracker crumbs (saltines)
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 pint oysters, drained (reserve juice)
  • - reserved juice plus enough milk to make 2 cups liquid

How To Make pennsylvania dutch scalloped oysters

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 375F. Grease or butter an 8-inch square baking pan (glass is best).
  • Step 2
    Combine cracker crumbs and melted butter. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Step 3
    Place 1/3 of cracker mix in bottom of pan. Place half of the oysters on crumbs. Repeat for another layer. Pour liquid over layers and top with remaining crumbs.
  • Step 4
    Bake for 30 minutes.
