unsalted butter
1 1/2 Tbsp
vegetable oil
1/2 c
minced onion
1/2 c
dry white wine
4 medium
ripe tomatoes, peeled, seeded and chopped
1 clove
garlic, minced
1 tsp
1/4 tsp
ground black pepper
3/4 tsp
dried oregano
4 oz
feta cheese, crumbled
1 lb
raw large shrimp, shelled and deveined
1/4 c
chopped fresh flat-leaf parsley

How to Make Garides me Feta (Shrimp with Feta Cheese)


  • 1n a heavy skillet, sauté onion in butter and oil over medium-high heat until soft.
  • 2Add wine, tomatoes, garlic, salt, pepper and oregano. Bring to boil, lower heat to medium, and simmer until sauce is slightly thickened.
  • 3Stir in cheese and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes. Adjust seasonings.
  • 4Just before serving, add shrimp to simmering sauce and cook for 5 minutes or until shrimp are just tender. Do not overcook.
  • 5Garnish with parsley and serve immediately .
