Ingredients For domatesli karides sote (shrimp & tomatoes-turkish)

  • 1 lb
    medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 Tbsp
    butter
  • 2 md
    onions, chopped
  • 2 clove
    garlic, minced and crushed with a little salt
  • 2 can
    (14.5 oz. each) diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 tsp
    sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp
    fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2
    bay leaves
  • 2 tsp
    whole black peppercorns, crushed lightly
  • salt and pepper, to taste

How To Make domatesli karides sote (shrimp & tomatoes-turkish)

    Saute the onion with butter in a large skillet over medium high heat for about 5 minutes. Add the garlic, tomato, sugar, basil, parsley, bay leaf and peppercorns. Reduce heat to low and cover. Cook for 20 to 25 minutes or until sauce thickens.

    Add shrimp, salt and pepper. Cover and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Remove the bay leaf and discard.
