Great way to cook shrimp if you have the 2 to 3 hours to let them marinade. Easy and delicious! Not really barbecue since it's done in the oven, but this is made often in Georgia and called "barbecue" shrimp.

  • 1 c
  • 1/2 c
    olive oil
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    lemon juice
  • 4 clove
    garlic, crushed
  • 2
    bay leaves, crushed
  • 2 tsp
    dried rosemary, crushed
  • 1 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
    ground red pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    dried oregano, crushed
  • 1/4 tsp
    black pepper
  • 2 dash(es)
    hot sauce
  • 2 dash(es)
    worcestershire sauce
  • 3 lb
    unpeeled large fresh shrimp

How to Make Barbecued Shrimp (Georgia Style)


  1. Combine all ingredients except shrimp in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, and simmer, uncovered, 15 minutes.
  2. Rinse the shrimp; drain. Place in an ungreased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking dish. Pour the butter mixture over the shrimp. Cover and chill 2 to 3 hours.
  3. Uncover and bake at 400° for 20 to 25 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink and the shells start to pull away, basting occasionally.
