Ingredients For tomato basil bruschetta

  • 8
    thins slices of french bread
  • 2-3
    roma tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1
    mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced. enough for 8 sandwiches
  • 12-15
    basil leaves, chiffonaded
  • mayonnaise, i prefer hellmans
  • salt to taste

How To Make tomato basil bruschetta

  • 1
    Place bread slices on a cooling rack that has been placed on a baking sheet.
  • 2
    Place under broiler until just browned, about 2-3 minutes. Watch closely. I like to brown one side only.

    Remove from oven and turn slices over and spread with mayonnaise. Omit if you prefer, but it does give the sandwich a nice rich flavor.

    Sprinkle with basil.

    Top with tomato slices.n Sprinkle with salt.
  • 6
    Top with mozzarella.

    Place back under broiler until cheese is melty. Remove and serve.
