- 8 - thins slices of french bread
- 2-3 roma tomatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced. enough for 8 sandwiches
- 12-15 basil leaves, chiffonaded
- mayonnaise, i prefer hellmans
- salt to taste
How To Make tomato basil bruschetta

Step 1Place bread slices on a cooling rack that has been placed on a baking sheet.

Step 2Place under broiler until just browned, about 2-3 minutes. Watch closely. I like to brown one side only.

Step 3Remove from oven and turn slices over and spread with mayonnaise. Omit if you prefer, but it does give the sandwich a nice rich flavor.

Step 4Sprinkle with basil.

Step 5Top with tomato slices.n Sprinkle with salt.

Step 6Top with mozzarella.

Step 7Place back under broiler until cheese is melty. Remove and serve.
