Ingredients

  • - vegetable cooking spray
  • 2 teaspoons butter, unsalted
  • 1/2 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 2 teaspoons all purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules
  • 1/2 cup cooked chicken, skinned and chopped
  • 4 slices whole wheat bread, toasted

How To Make hot chicken sandwiches

  • Step 1
    Coat a skillet with cooking spray, and add butter; place over medium-high heat until butter melts.
  • Step 2
    Add mushrooms, and cook 3 to 4 minutes or until tender, stirring often. Sprinkle flour over mushrooms, stirring well.
  • Step 3
    Add water and bouillon granules; cook, stirring constantly, 2 minutes or until mixture is thickened.
  • Step 4
    Reduce heat to low; add chicken to mixture, and simmer 2 to 3 minutes or until chicken is thoroughly heated. Spoon chicken mixture evenly over toast slices.
