Smoky Sweet Baby Back Chili

This has been a go to recipe with my leftover baby back ribs for as long as I can remember! The mix of smoky and Hints of sweet from the Vidalia onion and brown sugar barbecue sauce it’s so addicting! We usually pair it with creamed corn cornbread or some garlic Texas toast! Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1/2
    rack of baby back ribs, pre-cooked
  • 1/2 c
    diced onion (preferably vidalia)
  • 1 can(s)
    diced tomatoes
  • 2 can(s)
    mixed beans (chili blend)
  • 1 can(s)
    tomato paste
  • 1 pkg
    medium chili seasoning
  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar bbq sauce
  • 1/4 c
    finely diced green and red pepper
  • 1 1/2 c
    water
  • 1 dash(es)
    liquid smoke flavoring

How to Make Smoky Sweet Baby Back Chili

Step-by-Step

  1. In a large pot, Put heat to medium low, or in a crockpot on medium.
  2. Pull a part off the bone into small to medium sized shreds and chunks of the baby back ribs. Place in the pot.
  3. Add all of the diced veggies And the can of tomato paste then stir it together.
  4. Add the can of diced tomatoes with all of the juices into the pot. Stir.
  5. Add the cans of bean blend, Juices included. Then add the water and barbecue sauce. Stir.
  6. Bring to a low boil then lower back down to medium low. Add the liquid smoke and stir.
    After 10 minutes cover, and then simmer for approximately 30 minutes so all the flavors can Marry.
  7. Serve with cornbread, garlic sticks, or Parmesan breadsticks.
