wok-fried cabbage

I have adapted this recipe I found about 40 yrs ago in a book. I added the bacon. Every one that has tried it has asked for the recipe.

- 1-2 tbs - canola oil
- 1/2 lb - lean good quality maple bacon
- 1 lg - yellow onions
- 1 1/2 lbs - lean ground beef
- 1 tbs - garlic powder
- - salt and pepper to taste
- 1 med/lg - cabbage head
How To Make wok-fried cabbage

Step 1Shred cabbage in food processor finely.Chop bacon and onion.

Step 2Heat large wok on medium/high heat,add canola oil and bacon stirring till 3/4 cooked (not too crisp). Add onion and stir till onion is trasparent. Add ground beef and break up an stir till no longer pink. Add 1 tbs.garlic powder,salt and pepper to taste.

Step 3Add shredded cabbage 1/4-1/2 at a time. Stir and continue to add cabbage as it wilts down,(crisp/tender).Taste to see if more salt and pepper are needed. yum....

Step 4I have also put cold leftover mix in frozen,thawed bread dough,put seam on bottom of oiled cookie sheet,cover and let rise till double.Bake in 350.F oven till golden brown. Cool till cool enough to eat. I have cooled completely any leftovers and freeze. Are good sent in lunches. P.S. My kids love these in there lunches
