Spaghetti and Parmesan Meatballs

  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 lb
    ground pork
  • 10
    roma tomatoes
  • 1 c
  • 1/3 c
    olive oil
  • 4 Tbsp
  • 3 clove
  • 3 tsp
  • 12
    basil, fresh

  • 1/2 c
    parmesan cheese
  • 12 oz
    tomato paste
  • 1 pkg
  • 1/4 c
    olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1/4 c
    parmesan cheese

How to Make Spaghetti and Parmesan Meatballs


  1. Prepare all ingredients
  2. Slice Tomatoes in half
  3. Crush and mince garlic
  4. In a large pot, on medium-high heat add oil and garlic, allow garlic to cook in oil about 6 minutes.
  5. add tomatoes, oregano, salt and pepper.cook tomatoes until they begin to break down.
  6. mix Italian pork and ground beef together, add salt and pepper
  7. add 1/2 cup parmesan cheese to meatball mixture and add bread crumbs, combine and blend thoroughly
  8. portion and form meatballs and set aside
  9. Add water, sugar, and tomato paste or puree to sauce and stir
  10. add 1/4 cup Cabernet Sauvignon to sauce mix
  11. add 1/4 cup parmesan cheese to sauce and stir
  12. add fresh basil leaves and allow to continue to cook about 1 hour on low-medium heat stirring ocassionally
  13. In a large frying pan add 1/4 inch of olive oil and place meatballs in pan
  14. cook meatballs evenly on all sides. (use a lid or cover when cooking to insure meatballs are cooked thoroughly
  15. In a separate pan boil water and add spaghetti noodles cook about 7-10 minutes.
  16. place meatballs in a baking pan, sprinkle with fresh parmesan and cook on low heat about 7-10 minutes
  17. add fresh basil to sauce prior to serving
  18. strain noodles and in strainer pour small amount of olive oil over noodles and toss in strainer until noodles are covered
  19. Plate and enjoy
