Ingredients

Add to Grocery List

  • 1 bunch
    red cabbage, cut in slices
  • 1 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1/2 tsp
    kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 1/2 c
    sliced mushrooms
  • 1 small
    yellow onions
  • 1 c
chopped pepper - green or any color
  • 1 1/2 c
    chicken bouillon
  • 1 lb
    pork steaks

How to Make Red Cabbage Delight

Step-by-Step

  1. Bake pork steaks, or use left-over pork chops. Bake steaks on 400 degrees for about 45 minutes, turning half-way through. Put aside.
  2. While pork steaks are baking, cut cabbage into slices and put aside. Melt butter, and add mushrooms, peppers, and onions (diced), cooking them until they turn soft.
  3. Add cabbage, salt, cajun seasoning, and worcestershire sauce. Stir until cabbage becomes soft. Add chicken bouillon a little at a time (1/4 cup), mixing as you go. As the cabbage softens, you may want to add more chicken bouillon or not.
  4. Once you have the cabbage softened, cut your pork steak into bite-sized pieces and mix in to the cabbage mixture. Or serve the pork steaks separate and use the cabbage as a side-dish.
