picadillo burger on a bagel
The sammie challenge ingredients were olives and bagel. This is my twist on a Mexican favorite called Picadillo. I used ground pork instead of beef. It was pretty good and easy to make. If you are feeling a lil' adventurous, you may want to try this one. Cooking with Passion, sw?

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground pork
- 2 1/2 tablespoons california golden raisins
- 2 tablespoons olives with pimiento, chopprd
- 1/2 small orange bell pepper,chopped
- 1/2 small onion chopped
- 2 medium garlic cloves, chopped
- 1 tablespoon cilantro, chopped
- 1 package caldo de pollo (or any sazon)
- 1 small habanero pepper, fresh & chopped
- 4 - whole wheat bagel thins
- 2 teaspoons each of cumin, cinnamon,
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
- TOPPINGS
- 4 medium radishes, sliced
- 1 cup cabbage, shredded
- 4 tablespoons cilantro leaves (or substitute italian parsley)
- 4 tablespoons olive oil mayo
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste

How To Make picadillo burger on a bagel

Step 1gather ingredients

Step 2in a large heated skillet add evoo. saute onion, peppers, garlic for 1 minute. add raisins, olives, and cilantro & caldo de pollo. saute for an additional 2 minutes. remove and allow to cool

Step 3in large mixing bowl combine pork, cinnamon, cumin, tomato paste, salt and veggie mixture

Step 4make 4 patties.

Step 5fry burgers for 3-4 minutes on each side or until done

Step 6assemble: spread mayo on bagels, on the bottom half of the bagel add cabbage, raddish slices, cilantro and burger. place your bagel top on and you are ready to go.
