Kraut and links are the best. Make this and a loaf of garlic bread and sit down and watch your favorite football game or movie. Oh yes don't forget your favorite beer. From Eddie's cook book TIME after TIME. Of course make you own sausage.

Ingredients

  • 1 -16 ounce can whole tomatoes
  • 1 pound pork sausage links
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 3 1/2 cups drained sauerkraut
  • 1 medium green peppr diced
  • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon basil crushed

How To Make kraut and links pan-dango by eddie

  • Step 1
    Drain tomatoes, reserving liquid. Quarter each tomato set aside.
  • Step 2
    Cook sausage according to package directions in skillet drain on paper towel.
  • Step 3
    Reserve about 2 tablespoons drippings . Add onion, and garlic to reserved drippings in skillet.
  • Step 4
    Saute over medium heat stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes or until onion is tender.
  • Step 5
    Stir in reserved tomato liquid, quartered tomatoes and remaining ingredients.
  • Step 6
    Cook uncovered for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Step 7
    Top kraut mixture with cooked sausage.
  • Step 8
    Cook for 5 minutes or until sausages are heated through. Yield 4 servings.
