green beans and country ham sammich

Greens beans and ham is a wonderful southern side dish. You guessed it, turns out they make a great sammich as well. Happy Sammie Making! sw:)

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces country ham, soaked for 30 minutes
  • 1/4 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 4 - whole wheat refrigerated biscuits
  • 4 slices sugardale ready bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1/2 cup whipped cream cheese
  • 2-3 tablespoons orange fig spread
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg cracked
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs seasoned with italian seasoning, crushed red pepper and garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup evoo
  • 1 tablespoon italian seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons paprika, sweet mild
  • - double up on everything for 8 biscuits

How To Make green beans and country ham sammich

  • Step 1
    gather all ingredients
  • Step 2
    in a small bowl, combine the last 3 ingredients. place biscuits on a cookie sheet. brush the tops of all biscuits with the mixture. preheat oven to 350 degrees. cook biscuits according to package or until golden brown
  • Step 3
    preheat fryer to 350 degrees. fry green beans for 3 minutes or until golden brown. remove from oil and drain on a paper towel.
  • Step 4
    in a small bowl, combine cream cheese, ornage fig spread and bacon
  • Step 5
    in a large heated frying pan add 3/4 cup of water and ham. cook 6-8 minutes until water has evaported turning ham once
  • Step 6
    Build it and they will come: slice biscuits. spread cream cheese mixture on both sides of the bread. add ham and green beans. enjoy!
