Ingredients

  • 8 ounces salt pork (chopped)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 3 bunches mustard greens (cleaned well )
  • 4 bunches collard greens (cleaned well )
  • 3 - hot links
  • 8 cups water, salted

How To Make grandma pat's greens

  • Step 1
    Prep: Clean &(Tear)your greens. Cut your onions & hot links.(I like big chunks)
  • Step 2
    Saute pork, hot links & onions in large pot with EVOO. Add water and bring to boil. Add collard greens 1st. let them cook for 20 minutes then add mustard greens. Cook on med heat, another 20 to 40 minutes till greens or at desired firmness. Enjoy!
  • Step 3
    Note: Make sure greens are fresh & young. Old greens are bitter & there isn't any sugar in this recipe.
