fancy beanie-weenies

A very kid-friendly meal. Basically I took regular ol' "Beanie Weenies" (hot dogs & beans) and added to them to make it a more 'acceptable' dish for the grown-ups in the house. Ha ha! In the picture I didn't include the cheese on top, simply because I had none available, but the cheese would be delicious! ** This recipe freezes well, and is great for camping!

Ingredients

  • 4 - hot dogs, sliced into 1/4 inch slices
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes, cut up smaller
  • 1 can baked beans, any style
  • 2 teaspoons garlic
  • 1 tablespoon onion, minced, dried
  • 1 tablespoon italian seasoning
  • 1 cup small shells macaroni
  • - grated cheese, cheddar or parmesan for topping (optional)

How To Make fancy beanie-weenies

  • Step 1
    Cook macaroni as directed on package. Drain.
  • Step 2
    Add macaroni and all other ingredients, except cheese (if using), into a large saucepan. Heat through & simmer for 20 mins, stirring occasionally.
  • Step 3
    Serve in bowls with cheese sprinkled on top, if using.
